At Discount Wholesalers Inc., all inventory comes from major U.S. retailers including CVS, Walgreens, Amazon, Target, and Sam’s Club. Understanding product conditions helps you buy with confidence and price your resale inventory accurately.
Product Condition Grades
New Overstock
Brand new merchandise that was never sold. Retailers ordered more than they could sell and liquidated the surplus. Items are in original retail packaging, untouched, and indistinguishable from store-bought product.
- Condition: New, sealed, original packaging
- Best for: Amazon FBA, eBay, retail resale
- Typical discount: 70–90% off retail
Shelf Pulls
Items removed from retail store shelves during resets, planogram changes, or category discontinuations. Products are new and unopened — they were simply taken off the shelf before a customer purchased them.
- Condition: New, unopened, may have minor shelf wear on packaging
- Best for: Flea markets, eBay, bin stores, Amazon FBA
- Typical discount: 60–80% off retail
Customer Returns
Merchandise returned by retail customers. Condition varies — some items are unopened and in perfect condition, others may have been opened or lightly used. All customer return pallets are disclosed as such in the product listing.
- Condition: Varies — unopened to opened/used
- Best for: Bin stores, flea markets, parts/repair resellers
- Typical discount: 50–75% off retail
A Grade
High-quality merchandise in like-new condition. May include shelf pulls, new overstock, or lightly handled items with no visible defects. A Grade is the top tier of our internal grading system.
- Condition: Like-new, no visible defects
- Best for: Premium resale, Amazon, retail channels
B Grade
Good condition merchandise with minor cosmetic issues — slight box damage, missing tags, or packaging wear. The product itself is fully functional and intact. B Grade items resell well at flea markets and bin stores.
- Condition: Good, minor cosmetic packaging issues only
- Best for: Flea markets, bin stores, discount resale
Irregulars
Items with minor manufacturing defects or variations that do not affect function. Common in cosmetics and personal care — for example, a lip gloss with a slightly off-center label or a package with a small dent. The product inside is 100% usable.
- Condition: Minor cosmetic defect, fully functional
- Best for: Discount resale, bin stores
As-Is / Mixed Condition
Pallets sold as-is contain a mix of conditions — some items may be new, others opened, and a small percentage may have damage. These pallets are clearly marked and priced accordingly. Best for experienced resellers who can sort and grade inventory themselves.
- Condition: Mixed — new to damaged
- Best for: Experienced resellers, bin stores, high-volume buyers
Manifested vs. Unmanifested Inventory
Manifested pallets come with a full itemized list of every product, brand, quantity, and retail value. You know exactly what you are buying before the pallet ships.
Unmanifested pallets are sold as bulk lots without a detailed item list. You know the general category, approximate unit count, and source retailer — but not the exact contents. These pallets are typically priced lower and work best for bin stores and high-volume resellers.
